Today, in a book I’m reading titled Landscapes of the Sacred, Belden Lane says: “One begins to suspect that the contemplation of any ordinary thing, made extraordinary by attention and love, can become an occasion for glimpsing the profound.” What a great thought to begin Valentine’s Day! Even more interesting is how applicable this is to me and kindred spirits that curate memories by collecting, keeping, and caring for “ordinary things” (often items from deceased family and friends) with attention and love despite the directed criticism and labeling of others as being a “shit-collector” or “hoarder.” Glimpse the profound sisters and brothers!
